This beautiful cross was made in Tapalpa, a historical village nestled in the mountains above the city of Guadalajara, Mexico. It is called Papel Malecho, a term created to describe the Paper Mache process. Papel Malecho promotes the use of recycled objects in the development of the art. Learning Papel Malecho strengthens self-confidence and promotes a source of family income with handcrafts produced in Tapalpa by participants, women and children.
The cross has been formed using recycled cardboard, egg and apple cartons then paper mached and hand painted. It is truly a beautiful piece of art.
Value Priceless but we will say $150
